The proper law of this website is the law of Tasmania and by entering this website you agree with this choice of law.

We respect and protect your privacy.
We adhere to the principles of the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 (Tasmania) and have a Personal Information Protection Policy that details the type of information we collect, how it is used, disclosed and kept secure.
The types of personal information collected include property ownership, occupancy details, contract and billing details, names and addresses (residential, business and email.), telephone numbers, banking details, account status, customer indebtedness and pensioner and customer concession status.

TasWater endeavours to ensure all information it holds is accurate, complete and up to date. Where practicable, the accuracy of personal information held will be checked before it is used.
Generally, sensitive information will only be collected with the individual’s consent, unless collection of that information is required or permitted by law.
Before, during, or as soon as practicable after the collection of personal information all reasonable steps necessary are taken to ensure that individuals are aware of the following:

- the individual's right of access to the information;

TasWater will take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is made aware of these matters unless doing so would pose a serious threat to an individual’s life, safety, health or welfare.
