The National Water Initiative (NWI) is Australia’s blueprint for national water reform. The NWI sets out objectives, outcomes and actions for the ongoing process of national water reform and timelines to achieve this reform.

National Water Initiative in Tasmania

Tasmania has developed an Implementation Plan that describes the actions that Tasmania will take to implement the NWI.

Tasmania has prepared its progress report on National Competition Policy water reforms which has been reviewed by the National Water Commission.

A report on water governance arrangements in Tasmania has also been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the NWI.
