Our Graduate Program application process requires applicants to upload their resume and academic transcript, as well as a 3-minute video. In this video, applicants have the opportunity to tell us about themselves and answer a set of questions. We value unique experiences and perspectives and don't just rely on academic achievements.  

From there, once shortlisted, applicants will receive a take-home assignment and given 10 minutes to present to a panel, before a short formal interview. The presentation and interview are a total of 30 minutes. 

As part of your application, candidates will be asked to upload a 3-minute video as part of their application to include the following:

• Tell us about yourself; where are you from, what you're studying and what is your favourite way to spend your free time?
• What would you say is your most significant academic achievement?
• Why are you interested in the TasWater Graduate Program? (and if you are currently not living in Tasmania, what excites you most about moving to Tasmania?)
• Which of our values resonates most with you?

You must have either:

• graduated from an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in the last two years (at the time of commencement) OR
• are expecting to graduate within the first six months of the commencement of the program

We also require valid working rights for a minimum of 2 years from the commencement of the program.

The Graduate program commences in February each year.

TasWater is a multi-disciplinary organisation and our employees have broad and varied educational backgrounds. Whilst we will consider all areas of study for our Graduate program, listed below are the target disciplines for our 2026 intake:

• Engineering - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical
• Business/Finance/Commerce
• ICT/Data Science/Analytics
• Science - Environmental
• Law

Throughout our Graduate program you will gain exposure to different areas of our business via rotations. These are designed to give you a rounded experience in our business which will help you to identify the areas you're most passionate about and where you want to grow your career. 

During your last rotation our Talent Acquisition team will run sessions designed to set you up for success and guide you through the process of applying for open positions within TasWater.   

The 2-year TasWater Graduate program consists of three rotations which each last for eight months. Graduates will get the opportunity to work across different areas of our organisation.

Your rotation preference and areas of interest will be taken into consideration along with the needs of the business. 

In addition to on the job learning across each rotation, you will also participate in TasWater's Graduate Professional Development Program. This Development Program consists of in-person and virtual training sessions on relevant soft skill development topics over a 16 month period.

Graduates also gain the opportunity to spend time learning about different teams across our organisation, as well as partaking in volunteering opportunities and early career initiatives.
