TasWater Assist

TasWater Assist is not new, but it might be new to you. It’s our way of supporting Tasmanians to manage their water bills. It’s simple, personalised and it works. We will help you manage your payments, with no fees or charges and 100% confidentiality.

Every situation is different. You’ll work with our supportive team to find a simple plan to help manage your water payments. Options unique to our TasWater Assist program include:

• Personal support - We can arrange a virtual or face to face meeting to discuss options. 
• Tailored payment arrangements - We can arrange a payment plan that works for you, like smaller more frequent payments, with no extra fees.
• Financial counselling services - We can connect you with financial counselling services to help you take control of all your household bills.
• Family and domestic violence support - We can offer additional safety and support services if you need it.  Please refer to our 'Family and domestic violence support' section below. You can also view our Family and Domestic Violence policy here for more information.

One-off payment extension

If you need a little bit more time to pay your bill, get in touch. One-off payment extensions are simple to arrange and there are no extra fees.  You can contact our Customer Service team directly to arrange a suitable date to pay your bill.

We also offer different payment arrangement options. This includes direct debit to help you keep on top of future bills.  Our friendly Customer Service team will be happy to discuss options available to you for payment arrangements, or direct debit.

Undetected leak

Customers with an unusually high bill due to an undetected leak at their property may be eligible for a one-off discount to cover some of the extra cost.  For more information, or to apply for a water leak rebate, you can refer to our 'Concessions and Rebates' page.

Medical conditions and life support machines

We offer a rebate on water usage charges for customers with a diagnosed medical condition requiring heavy water usage. You can contact our Customer Service team who will be happy to discuss your needs further, and how we can help.

Centrepay

Centrepay is a voluntary bill-paying service which is free for Centrelink customers. Use Centrepay to arrange regular deductions from your Centrelink payment.
You can start or change a deduction at any time. The easiest way to do it is through your Centrelink account online in myGov.

Concessions

Eligible concession card holders can contact us to discuss the Tasmanian Government funded water and sewerage concession.  You can apply for a government concession rebate online, or by contacting our Customer Service team directly on 136 992.
