Your drinking water

• We sample and test water regularly from every system — both at the source and from customer taps.
• Testing includes bacteria, chlorine, metals, pH, and other key health parameters.
• All sampling is done under the Public Health Act 1997 and reviewed by the Department of Health.
• Testing is done in National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited labs.

Each system is listed by location, with the latest results shown for:

• Microbiological results: These show if any harmful bacteria were detected. A ‘pass’ means the water is safe to drink.
• Chemical results: These measure things like chlorine, fluoride and minerals. We compare these to national safety limits.
• Potable classification: ‘Yes’ means the water meets all safety standards for drinking.

We follow the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and are regulated by the Tasmanian Department of Health. These guidelines set out safe levels for all substances and microbiological organisms found in drinking water.
