TasWater Acting CEO, Tony Willmott has advised that the Temporary Boil Water Alert advisory to customers in Penguin, Sulphur Creek, Preservation Bay and Heybridge has been lifted. “The decision on 8 March 2022 to advise customers to boil their water was a precaution in response to advice from the Department of Health (DoH),” he said. “We have worked closely with the DoH to ensure the White Hills Water Treatment Plant is operating efficiently to produce safe and clean drinking water and this has enabled the boil water advice to be lifted. “TasWater will continue rigorously testing drinking water supplies in the area as part of ongoing quality management. “I would like to thank affected customers for their patience while we worked to resume supply of drinking water,” Mr Willmott said.
