Worried about your water bills? TasWater Assist is here

TasWater has launched a refreshed and improved customer support program aimed at helping Tasmanians struggling with living costs.

TasWater Assist is dedicated to easing the cost-of-living burden by helping customers manage their water bills.

Head of Customer Services Jayne Shepherd said although TasWater has always had a customer support service, this improved program was a step-change in service level for customers.

“TasWater Assist will be new to many Tasmanians,” Ms Shepherd said.

“Times are tough right now, cost of living is high, and many people are struggling to make ends meet – some for the very first time.

“This is our way of supporting our customers to regain control over their water bills,” she said.

The TasWater Assist team will provide customers with individualised support to develop a simple plan to manage their bills.

“Every situation is different, and we have a range of solutions to support our customers, including one-off payment extensions to ease short-term pressure and longer-term payment arrangements to fit all budgets,” Ms Shepherd said.

The program is also able to provide additional support, such as connecting customers to financial counselling services and support with costs incurred from undetected leaks.

“Sometimes it can be hard to ask for help, but we have made it as easy as possible for customers to reach out to us – if you’re not quite ready to have a conversation you can find out all about the different support services available on the new website.

“Of course, for those who want friendly conversation they can call, or come and see us in person.

“If you’re worried about your water bills don’t wait. Get in touch and we will tailor a plan to suit your needs,” Ms Shepherd said.

Customers can access TasWater Assist by calling us on 13 6992 and asking to speak to a TasWater Assist team member, dropping into one of our Customer Information Centres in Devonport, Launceston or Moonah or visiting the TasWater Assist page.
