Scholarship Programs

Investing in Future Innovators

At TasWater, we believe in nurturing the next generation of innovators who will lead the way in ensuring the sustainable management of water resources. To turn this belief into action, we proudly introduce the TasWater Women in STEM Scholarship, and TasWater Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship which are now available alongside the Steve Balcombe Scholarship Program.

Future Water Champions

The Scholarships are a remarkable opportunity for Tasmanian students embarking on full-time study in fields closely aligned with TasWater's core activities. These fields include engineering, environmental science, and earth science. We understand the importance of these disciplines in safeguarding our precious water resources, protecting the environment, and enhancing the essential services we all rely on daily.

"The scholarship process in early 2023 gave me this opportunity, and now I'm excited to be entering my second placement with the team." Over the 12 weeks, Charlie aims to deepen his understanding of our projects. "I want to learn about the type of site work undertaken by engineers, the role of an engineer in delivering projects, and all the steps involved in making it happen," Charlie said. When he's not working or studying, Charlie enjoys soccer and mountain biking, two passions that keep him active and connected to the outdoors.
