Check your balance

The 24/7 account balance phone service provides quick access to your account balance and due date anytime, without waiting on hold or needing to call during business hours.

How to use the service:
  • Call us on 13 6992 from a mobile number linked to your account.
  • From the main menu, select Option 5: Account and General Enquiries, then choose Account Balance and Due Date.
  • Enter your 9 digit account number when prompted.
  • For security, you’ll receive a verification code via SMS — enter it to confirm your identity.
  • Your account balance and due date will be read out automatically.

If your mobile number isn’t linked to your account or you don’t know your account number, a customer service officer can help update your details during business hours. If you are calling after hours, you’ll need to fill out the contact us form or follow up by phone or webchat during business hours.

We offer various methods of paying your account both online and offline. Please find our options below.

Direct debit

Pay your bill with automatic debits from your nominated bank account. You can choose to pay:

  • In full on the due date, or
  • In fixed weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments

Cheque

Staple your cheque to the payment slip on the bottom of your statement and send to TasWater. Cheques are made payable to TasWater.

AusPost

Pay with cash, EFTPOS, credit card or cheque at Australia Post.

Centrepay

Centrepay is a voluntary bill-paying service which is free for Centrelink customers. Use Centrepay to arrange regular deductions from your Centrelink payment.
You can start or change a deduction at any time. The easiest way to do it is through your Centrelink account online in myGov.
