TasWater has begun an extensive state-wide project that will clean, inspect and then, if required, reline sections of the states vast sewer system.
Under the Tamar Estuary River Health Action Plan (TERHAP or the Plan), which is an initiative of the Tamar Estuary Management Taskforce (TEMT) and the Launceston City Deal, we’re improving our sewer infrastructure networks to improve the health of kanamaluka/Tamar Estuary.
The Coles Bay township is supplied with water from the reservoir to the north of the town. To bring this connection up to current TasWater standard an additional pipeline will be installed from the existing water main on Coles Bay Road to the corner of Reserve Road.
TasWater will conduct extensive upgrades to Queenstown's water mains commencing in the first half of 2024. We are fully committed to renewing almost 6 kilometres of water mains and decommissioning aging infrastructure.
The kanamaluka/Tamar estuary is a special landscape that connects our community. We appreciate its importance to Launceston and the wider community, which is why we are making investments today to ensure its health for future generations.
