TasWater’s national eleven

TasWater’s national eleven

After a nation-wide advertising campaign and extensive selection process, the TasWater Graduate Program 2023 has commenced.
Eleven university graduates from across Australia started with us recently. Over the next two years, they will work across varying TasWater teams around the state to utilise their diverse skillsets in Engineering, ICT, Environmental Science, Finance and Media and Communications.
Their arrival has involved an extensive tour of our facilities in the north and south of the state, meet and-greets, and briefings from key personnel from across the business.
The site visits included the Bryn Estyn Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in the Derwent Valley, Self’s Point Sewerage Treatment Plant and Laboratory, Taswater’s Moonah office, as well as northern operations at Rocherlea, Distillery Creek, Ti Tree Bend and Margaret Street.
TasWater’s Manager Organisational Planning and Performance Yvette Gilbert said the teams were thrilled with the calibre of candidates and deserving graduates selected to be part of the 2023 Program.
“As an organisation, TasWater is focused on providing a two-year structured, competency-based program to support graduates to build technical knowledge and skill in the workplace and putting their university learnings into practice.
“We also put as much emphasis on the personal growth of our graduates as we do their workplace development.
“The Graduate Program is tailored to each of the eleven individuals to provide the most memorable experience as well as the optimum professional development experience.
“We also want them to focus on continually improving their own experience at TasWater to pass on for the benefit of younger and future graduates,” Yvette said.
“Our graduate intake brings increased diversity to TasWater, something we are working on throughout the business. We are looking forward to the fresh ideas and new perspectives they will bring to TasWater throughout their time in the program.”
