Upper Prosser Dam Upper Prosser Dam Scour Valve Replacement Project

What's this project all about?

The Upper Prosser Dam has a scour valve to release flows from storage. This valve is located over halfway along the dam wall and must be operated manually. The dam wall is accessed from the riverbed which has eroded over time and become steep and rocky. As a result of the increased safety risks, the dam storage is not currently being utilised.

The purpose of this project is to construct a new scour valve in a safe and accessible location. This will enable the use of the dam storage improving water security in the area and ensuring the safe operation of a critical asset
