Burnie White Hills & Chimney Saddle WTP FSA upgrade

What's this project all about?

TasWater CDO is upgrading the existing FSA Storage and Dosing System at White Hills (Penguin), Burnie and Chimney Saddle Water Treatment Plants, due to identified degradation of the existing FSA bulk storage tank and identified non-compliances of the existing system with the Tasmanian Code of Practice for the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies, 2019 (Fluoride Code).

Proposed fluoride dosing point locations at these are:

  • White Hills WTP: Outlet weir from the common filter well;
  • Burnie WTP: Outlet weir from the common filter water well; and
  • Chimney Saddle WTP: Outlet of the Treated Water Storage (pre-chlorine dose), after the outlet control valve.

New location recommended in order to comply with the Fluoride Code.

There will be minimal constructional impact on the general public regarding these works.
